A BIG SHOUT OUT to one of Jalene's great friends, Carolyn. She really hooked Jalene up this past weekend with some good spa treatments, and an excellent surprise that involved some friends flying into town. You rock Carolyn!
I am selling bracelets to help raise money for Jalene's medical bills which have been piling up rapidly these past few months. The bracelets are Black (Jalene's favorite color!) and are engraved in pink with 'TEAM JALENE'. For each $15 donation I will mail you a bracelet. When you've made your donation, you can notify me via email. Please email me directly and include the name and address where the bracelet can be mailed. My email: janismiesen@hotmail.com. Donations can be made at any US Bank under account name: 'Jalene P. Brooks Donation'. Another option is to directly mail me a check made payable to 'Jalene P. Brooks Donation', and I will deposit your check at a US Bank. If you need my address, please email me directly. (see above)
Thank you for your support to help Jalene fight Cervical Cancer!!!!

JALENE'S FIGHT AGAINST CANCER
This is Jalene's fight. This is our fight.
This Blog is dedicated to my beautiful sister Jalene. She was diagnosed with Cervical Cancer for the second time in the past 2 years. This is a place where family and friends can come and find out how she is doing and where they can post encouraging words for our Ironwoman! Jalene is a dedicated single mama to two boys, she is a wonderful daughter, an amazing sister, and a loving friend. CJ, her oldest, is 18 and starting college, and Joseph is 10 and starting the 5th grade. They are the light of her life. She works in sales at KINK FM in Portland, Oregon, and her biggest hobby is being a 'super-athlete'! She has completed countless marathons, tri-athalons, and her first Ironman competition in AZ a couple years ago. Jalene has been battling health issues since June of this year. Right when she was starting to feel better and about to return to work, she found out the cancer was back. Therefore, going into the radiation her body is just not healthy. She has a tough radiation schedule on her hands and is going twice a week. But when she finishes her fight against cancer, we know we'll see her back on her bike, running the streets, and swimming laps in the pool! We all love Jalene, and anyone who knows her KNOWS she is such a faithful and loving person...someone who is always there for the people she loves. So, fight sister fight. We all have your back, and as Fr. John likes to say... "YOU ARE LOVED".
A Celtic Prayer
Deep peace of the running waves to you. Deep peace of the flowing air to you. Deep peace of the quiet earth to you. Deep peace of the shining stars to you. Deep peace of the Son of peace to you.
Wanna drop a note to Jalene on this blog? Here's how to leave a comment......and how to read them!
At the end of the paragraph and bottom of each posting, there is a line similar to this one: "Posted by Joplin at 8:00am 0 COMMENT" Did you know you can click on the line, "O COMMENT", and it will take you to a comment box to write your own words to Jalene? TO READ comments, you do the exact same thing, but need to go to each individual posting to read comments for each post. She would love to hear from all of you! So go ahead...click and say anything! :)

THINKING OF YOU ... WITH LOVE!
It's taken me a while to think of the perfect words to express my gratitude towards what's happening here ~ and I'm still not sure I have it down, but I'll try. How do I say 'THANK YOU' when I feel the words just aren't enough? I'm truly overwhelmed & humbled at the amount of support & love that's coming my direction & I have been extremely emotional with what's taken place. I think of my friends & family and know I am blessed & loved. With everything I'm dealing with, it's been so encouraging to know I'm in your thoughts & prayers. The last 2 months have been challenging for me, which have brought many emotions my way ~ not to mention ~ several 'melt downs'. I've been sad and frustrated ~ the tears come more than I'd like. My strength has been tested, no doubt. My independence has been tested as well ~ and it's been hard to 'let go' of things. But even though my health & my cancer battles continue, I am determined. Between those tears, I know I've the means to fight this ~ no expectations, just one day at a time. My Father taught me that ...
Thank you, to everyone that has contributed their words of encouragement & support. Thank you, to everyone who has reached out to me. It means more to me than I can express. I will continue to thrive on everyone's energy & I appreciate what you've done to contribute to my life. Each & every one of you. One of my favorite mantras is 'Cultivate Gratitude' ... and you've all shown that, and then some.
To Janis (my sister), Matthew (my bro-in-law) & my parents ... you are truly amazing. I am so grateful.
To my beautiful sons ~ Christopher & Joseph ... you're shining lights in my life and I love you to the moon & back ... and back again.
